Sandy hails from Ottawa Ontario and is a first generation Canadian from Parisian French parents (and yes, she speaks French). After having obtained her Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Ottawa and working at Export Development Corporation doing fun stuff like bank analysis, Sandy's career focus shifted to, of all things, animation. She attended Algonquin College's Animation program and in her final semester was hired to intern as a Classical Animation Artist (that's someone who animates the old fashioned way: with a pencil) for Walt Disney Animation Canada in Vancouver. Sandy was then employed by the company for two years, during which time she worked on such projects as "The Little Mermaid II," "Winnie the Pooh Valentine Special," "The Mickey Mouse Christmas Trilogy," and "Peter Pan: Return to Neverland." After Disney Canada closed it's doors in 2000, Sandy took up residence in Toronto to animate on Warner Brother's "Osmosis Jones" and then remained in Toronto to be closer to her family in Ottawa and to work on other animated productions such as Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights," "Looney Tunes Back in Action,"and the new "Curious George" feature. Upon her return to the east, Sandy was horribly and irrevocably bitten by the acting bug. Since then she has appeared repeatedly in Toronto stage productions, and on numerous independent film shoots. She has also done regular voice work for TV shows such as "1-800 Missing," "Blue Murder," Showtime's "Streetime," and "Odyssey 5." She has also been hired to voice several Movie of the Weeks as well as Norman Jewison's "The Statement." She also loves to both jog and play Ultimate Frisbee, but not necessariy at the same time. |
